FAQ

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY FIRST TATTOO?

So you’re about to get your first tattoo, but you don’t know what to do or expect? We’re here to help. See the FAQ below.

HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
To book an appointment you can fill out Tattoo Enquery form or send message 'Drop us a line!'
DOES IT HURT?
Yes. But typically not as bad as you’d expect. We feel the end result is worth the temporary discomfort!
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
The shop minimum is $120. We will be more than happy to give a price quote after the final artwork, size and placement is decided upon and before your appointment.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I TIP?
Tipping is the best way to show your artist they did a great job and you love your new piece! We recommend tipping around 20% of your service.
HOW DO I PICK A DESIGN?
If you’re looking to get a tattoo but can’t decide on what to get custom tattoos are the right direction. You can work together with the artist to create a unique tattoo. Our suggestion for custom pieces, coverups, or larger pieces is to come by for a consultation first.
CAN I GET A TATTOO IF I AM UNDERAGE?
In Florida, to get a tattoo, you must be at least 16 years old with parental consent. The parental consent form must be notarized. The minor and parent/ legal guardian must have valid government issued photo identification in hand. The parent/ legal guardian must be present in store.
DO YOU DO FINGER TATTOOS? FACE TATTOOS?
Yes, we take finger, face, foot and neck tattoos on a case-by-case basis. Keep in mind for hand/finger/foot tattoos:
- The tattoo will fade/have areas fall out entirely in as short as a week
- The tattoo would need frequent touch ups to maintain (and the fading would occur with every touch up as well)
- We do not provide complementary touch ups for tattoos on frequent contact areas.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY UPCOMING APPOINTMENT?
So you’re getting your tattoo soon, it's time to prepare!
1. Maintain your hygiene! That means taking a shower and wearing deodorant. Getting a tattoo means being up close and personal with our artists, so make sure you are smelling great and feeling clean.
2. Dress appropriately. Make sure to wear loose clothing that can easily reveal the area being tattooed. Keep in mind that tattoos on the torso, especially on the ribs may require you to be shirtless. If this makes you uncomfortable, consider wearing a button down shirt that can be flipped to reveal the area while covering your front.
3. Eat and hydrate prior to the appointment.
4. Do not drink alcohol the night before your appointment.
5. Bring a water bottle just in case, hydration is important!

Pat tattoo dry with a clean, disposable paper towel.
Apply small amount of lotion or ointment to tattoo and work into skin.
